COURSE HISTORY
THE STORY ALLESTREE GOLF COURSE & THE DERBYSHIRE GOLF CLUB
This four part story tells the history of The Derbyshire Golf Club (Founded 1892) and Allestree Golf Course.
The club was one of the most prominent clubs in the county. It operated at four different courses before moving to a new Harry S Colt designed 18 hole course at Allestree Park in 1930.
The club occupied courses in Osmaston Park, Littleover Common, Markeaton and Mackworth all of which gave way to the expansion of development of Derby in the early 20th Century.
